YBhg. Dato' Haji Noor-Ihsan bin Haji Che Mat, Director General, Local Government Department has organized a surprise visit to the site of Taiping Market, Perak to review the status of project implementation.

During the working visit, YBhg. Dato' KP commended the efforts shown by the Taiping Municipal Council, consultants and contractors involved. The restoration project requires meticulous and detailed efforts to ensure the market is gazetted as a heritage building.
 
The project is expected to be ready in 2024 and will be inaugurated in time for the 150th anniversary of the Taiping Heritage City.
